The more pharmacists learn about drugs that are used frequently among patients, the better prepared they will be to help their patients make informed decisions. Prevention is the treatment of choice for Acute Renal failure (ARF), as well as Drug Induced Renal Failure (DIRF). Identifying patients at high risk is the first step. Patients should be counseled on concomitant medications that might cause ARF and the risk of dehydration.
